How my journey began

My professional career began in Early Childhood Development and Education. I was ambitious about creating a curriculum that incorporated social-emotional development and cultural learning experiences alongside the Common Core State Standards of Education. I was inspired to create a safe space for children to overcome the adversity they were experiencing at as early an age as possible. But after having my own children, I realized the best way to help the babies was to help the mommas. I had suffered through PMADs through my first three pregnancies and my third experience coincided with the pandemic. I was overcome with such profound empathy for other mothers struggling in isolation. And that was my spark.

So, after receiving my Master's in Business Management and Communication, I switched my career goals to create a safe space for mothers to overcome adversity, engage in their authentic identities, and build a life for themselves and their children that they were not only content with but proud of. I started acquiring a unique collection of certifications that directly supported this plan. As a multi-disciplinary practice, Flora, Femme, & Fauna is an extension of my authentic experiences and my ever-expanding knowledge base. By starting with Doula services and expanding supportive measures, We Mother the Mother.
